FRIEND if all these verses die:
Soon will you, and soon will I
But, if any word should live,
Then that word to you I give.

SHORT BIO:
Herbert ASQUITH (1881-1947) was the son of the British Prime Minister and a President of the Oxford Union, who was called to the Bar in 1907. He wrote four volumes of poems, four novels and a memoir.
