Poetry in Translation (CXXXVI): Edith SITWELL (1887-1964) – “Answers”, “Răspunsuri”

October 24th, 2012 · 1 Comment · International Media, PEOPLE, Poetry, quotations, Translations

Edith SITWELL (1887-1964) – “Answers”, “Răspunsuri”

I kept my answers small and kept them near;
Big questions bruised my mind but still I let
Small answers be a bulwark to my fear.

Răspunsuri mici păstrez mereu discret
Ca să nu-nfrunte grijile prea mari
Deşi răspunsuri mici răman în piept.
