Lover:
“After the metaphors, the Chemist. This is how great sentiments are frittered away. To start as a poet and finish as a gynaecologist. From all conditions, that of the lover is the least enviable.”

Poetry in Translation (CCCXXIX), Constantin ROMAN, GREAT BRITAIN/ENGLAND: “Chelsea Bridge” (Romanian version)

March 21st, 2015 · No Comments · Books, Diaspora, Famous People, OPINION, PEOPLE, Poetry, quotations, Translations

It’s either now or never to shape a fate for you,

Valentin Lipatti, fratele pianistului, a calificat incercarea tanarului roman de a face un doctorat in Occident drept:

“o optiune politica a carei persepectiva, in cel mai fericit caz, nu ar fi rezultat decat in aceea de a ajunge chelner de restaurant”.
